House Ways & Means Committee Vote

Posted on Mar 3, 2010

Once, again, as reported by FITSNews in Columbia "the SC House Ways and Means Committee has again voted to approve over $2,000,000 for education testing contracts to the same politically-connected company each year in spite of its abysmal results". "Sources told FITSNets that SC Rep. Annette Young was one of the leaders to re-insert the funding request, while having previously voted for mandatory teacher furloughed days, and stated that she was acting in accordance with Speaker Harrell's wishes". Once again, Representative Young is not representing her local constituency.

Local teachers in Dorchester School District 2 have voiced strong opposition and hatred towards the agency that has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on expensive exams that fail to provide diagnostic data on student achievement.

WE CAN DO BETTER...IT IS TIME...our Students and Teachers deserve BETTER and WE CAN DO BETTER
