Campaign Trash Talk and Threats

Posted on May 9, 2010

To all the literally thousands of committed voters for my candidacy, you will probably be reading in various press outlets and other media about fabricated, untrue and misleading information about Larry Hargett. My opposition is planning to put out false information because their campaign is failing to attract the numbers of supporters they need to win State House District 98. They are getting desperate and desperate people exhibit irrational and unwise behavior. Their first lies will probably assert something about my County Council work for my constituents.

I will take the high road in dealing with my political opponents even though they seem to want to take the low road built with lies and innuendos. Those candidates who stoop to such tactics need to remember people are talking and taking notes on their conduct and record and that after the race is over, those candidates who chose the low road will have to live with their reputation and conduct for a long time.

Also, please continue your campaign 'sign watch' reports. Our campaign has logged several vehicle sighting reports involved in destroying, defacing and stealing of Hargett campaign signs. My campaign Staff has had to resort to placement of several 'stealth cameras', recording day or night with no illumination, to record those sick law-breakers that steal, deface and vandalize campaign signs. South Carolina Code of Laws Title 7, Chapter 25, "Offenses Against The Election Laws" make it a misdemeanor with a fine of $100 or imprisonment of not more than thirty days, or both, upon conviction of campaign sign violations.

The Summerville 'Crowd' - a sometimes secret 'Society' hard at a work to keep their people in power in Dorchester County and Summerville is hard at work trying to spin lies and innuendos. Senator Mike Rose experienced this same old 'Society' during his Senate race in 2008 with spins of lies, misstatements and exaggerations about Senator Rose's campaign.

Like Senator Rose, I want nothing to do with such a group and only desire that the good citizens of Dorchester County win and capture the good life they are entitled to enjoy. The House District 98 Race represents a timely opportunity for the citizens of Greater Summerville and lower Dorchester County to, at long last, elect a leader who will deliver 'Restoration of Representation' in a cooperative, straight forward and honest manner. I promise to accomplish 'Restoration of Representation'.

Senator Mike Rose, now Dr. Mike Rose, just received an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Public Administration on May 8, 2010 from the Citadel.
