Hargett Endorsed by SC Conservation Voters

Posted on May 26, 2010

Conservation Voters is the bi-partisan, political arm of South Carolina's conservation community. According to Dr. Harry Shealy, chair of the CVSC Board, "Conservation Voters advocates for the passage of laws to protect the environment, but we go one step further – we help elect the leaders who will vote to protect our air, land and water."

These endorsements follow CVSC's rigorous and non-partisan evaluation process. All primary candidates were invited to submit written questionnaires, and endorsed candidates were also interviewed. CVSC Executive Director Ann Timberlake stated "It's encouraging that we have both Republican and Democratic candidates who agree that protecting natural resources and providing clean, abundant water is critical for growth, for recreation and for public health."

I look forward to earning the Conservation Voters of South Carolina's (CVSC) 100% 'Honor Roll' in support of conservation values and water and energy protection legislation during my 2011-2012 House of Representatives term of office. Our 2009-2010 District 98 House member earned a 26% conservation support rating by the Conservation Voters of South Carolina during 2006 and a 29% rating during 2008.
